Rescue Services
BAFR host fundraisers to help save equines from ending up in Kill Pens before being loaded in a truck and then shipped across the border to a slaughter house. If you would like to help in this mission, BAFR accepts donations to help cover the cost of their bail, transport, quarantine, first vet check up and farrier. Any funds left over will go toward their feed and any supplements needed. If you would like to donate you can click on our donate button. Please make sure you let us know that you want your donation to go to a specific fundraiser for an equine BAFR is working on or if you would like your donation to go to the rescue in general.
BAFR assists our local authorities with stray equines needing held during a stray hold while trying to locate their Owner. Once the stray hold is up, BAFR will work on finding them approved forever homes. If you are interested in adopting or fostering a stray in our care, please check the documents drop down and fill out our Adoption Application or Foster Application form.
BAFR offers Owner Surrender services to those who can no longer care for their equine(s), or just don’t want them any longer. BAFR also assists with those who have inherited an equine but are not sure how to care for them or just don’t want them, but want help in finding them forever homes. If you are looking for help and are interested in Owner Surrender, please fill out our Owner Surrender form located in the Documents Drop Down Box.
All Equines/Animals are adopted out under a strict "no rehome" contract. If at any time the adopter is no longer able or no longer wanting their adopted equine/Animal they are required to return their equine/animal back to the rescue! They cannot be given away, sold, or taken to auction!
