About the Rescue

Welcome to Boogie Along Farm & Rescue, where second chances are made, saving one life with no voice at a time.

Our goal is to save as many equines as possible from the slaughter pipeline, whether they are in auction houses or have already made their way to a kill pen. Our top priority is getting the equines safe whether it is at our rescue or another rescue we have partnered up with, or even helping get them into a loving forever home.

No equine deserves to serve its human family and then be sold to slaughter because they are simply “useless” or “unwanted” or a big one we hear the most “I don’t want to feed them through winter”. They deserve to be loved from the time they are born through their senior years until they cross the rainbow bridge.

BAFR assists our local authorities with stray equines needing to be held during a stray hold while searching for an approved forever homes. BAFR also takes in Owner Surrender Cases as well. All Equines are adopted out under a strict "no rehome" contract. If at any time the adopter is no longer able or no longer wanting their adopted equine they are required to return their equine back to the rescue. They cannot be given away, sold, or taken to auction.

BAFR offers training services, outreach and educational services, and more! Check out our “Services” tab for all services offered.

Mission Statement

Our mission is simple, to rescue as many horses each year as we can. To advocate for those who are thrown to the side as “not usable or unwanted”. We want to show the world that every horse no matter what medical disability or how old they are can still be very beneficial to society and even more their owner/family.

Our primary focus is to rescue, rehabilitate, then find a short or long term foster home and eventually a loving forever home.

Our secondary focus is education. We want to help educate as many people as we can about horses. Whether they are just interested in horses, they are a first time horse owner or even a seasoned horse owner wanting to further their knowledge on how to care for their equine partner, or how to handle them if they have an unplanned encounter with one that is a stray.

We believe that is a new equine owner has access to someone willing to educate them on horse ownership and care then there will be less horses being bounced from one home to the next, or worse, ending up in the slaughter pipeline. Most of the top reasons we hear for a horse bouncing homes is “my young child outgrew the horse phase” or “we bought this horse but didn't realize how much time and money goes into their care”.
